Fit4Democracy.eu is an international education and participation project that encourages people of different ages and from various countries in the Danube region and Europe to actively live and shape democracy in their everyday lives. The focus is on low-threshold opportunities that show how everyone – regardless of age, origin, or level of education – can strengthen democracy with small steps.
Fit4Democracy aims to promote civic engagement and democratic participation, strengthen media literacy and critical thinking, and improve the handling of disinformation. At the same time, it seeks to support a united and peaceful European community in which people engage in dialogue and take action across borders.
Target groups
The program is aimed primarily at young people (approx. 16–25 years old), older adults, and intergenerational groups from the Danube region and other European countries. Individuals, school classes, youth groups, senior citizen groups, and civil society initiatives that wish to commit themselves to democratic values are all welcome.
Key activities
The project includes international online and in-person meetings where participants discuss democracy, participation, and civic engagement, and develop concrete ideas. In addition, creative formats such as the „Democracy2go“ video challenge and a digital toolbox with easily implementable best-practice examples for democratic activities are offered.

Toolbox and materials
The Fit4Democracy toolbox collects simple methods and actions. These examples are available online to everyone interested and are intended to inspire them to launch their own local democracy initiatives.
