ILEU e.V. has been coordinating the international education network „Danube-Networkers“ with many partners from 10 Danube countries for many years. Ukraine is also a Danube country and we have been working well with partners from Ukraine for many years.
„Being a friend“ means standing together even in difficult times. For this reason, shortly after the start of the war of aggression against Ukraine in March 2022 in violation of international law, ILEU set up a Ukraine Aid ILEU for the many people who had fled to the greater Ulm area.
Our motto is „Together in Ulm“ – we provide humanitarian aid by methodically promoting communication, encounters and integration. We organise activities for refugees of all ages and are supported by local organisers, associations, companies and numerous volunteers. It is important to us to incorporate the skills and abilities of refugees into our work. This has resulted in a large community of refugees and locals in Ulm, who meet and work together in analogue and digital events.
This was and is only possible because we use digital technologies in an innovative way for organisation, information, participation and networking and combine them with analogue activities. All our activities are bilingual, in German and Ukrainian. Thanks to good public relations work, Ukrainehilfe ILEU has a high level of visibility and an agile, well-functioning regional network. The synergy with other ILEU projects also creates opportunities for cooperation at an international level.
As at the Donaufest 2022, Ukrainian refugees will have a stand with arts and crafts and handicrafts. The proceeds from the stand will go to humanitarian projects in Ukraine. Visit the stand and support the work of „Together in Ulm“ (Danube banks, Neu-Ulm, next to the Edwin-Scharff-Haus)
