VIVES@BW: Virtually connected – senior citizens in Baden – Württemberg

„Virtuell verbunden – Seniorinnen & Senioren in Baden-Württemberg“ (Virtually Connected – Seniors in Baden-Württemberg) – the detailed name of our project – wants to bring people into contact with each other and offer you the opportunity to participate in activities and events of your interest via the new media. Via the online platform Zoom, VIVES@BW offers an extensive programme in which you can participate and get involved for free. At VIVES@BW you can listen to lectures, actively participate in various offers, take part in discussions or exchange ideas on topics that interest you. Find like-minded people and new contacts with us, let others inspire you. You can also get involved in our programme yourself, offer a lecture or initiate a working group. We don’t just offer opportunities in the evening, but also join-in programmes for the late morning such as mental exercise, breathing techniques and an open discussion group where you can simply come along to have a chat. Put together your own programme!
All you need for the Zoom meetings is a PC, laptop or tablet with a built-in or additional camera and a microphone. You can also dial in directly with your smartphone. This allows you to participate from the comfort of your own home.
We also offer our participants training and assistance in using the technology: We will help you to take part in our meetings and to use the technology correctly by telephone, after making a time arrangement. It doesn’t matter whether you already have experience with the internet or are still a newcomer: Anyone who is interested can join us!
Our goal is to bring people together, to break through loneliness and isolation in the 3rd age and to establish intergenerational contacts. VIVES@BW is supported by the Office for Civil Society and Citizen Participation of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
