We were pleased to invite you to our conference „Strengthening Civil Society in the Danube Region for a Common Europe“ as part of the 8th partner meeting of the Danube-Networkers Education Network in Ulm, on Friday 12 July 2024, from 9 am – 6 pm. It took place as part of the International Danube Festival 2024 in cooperation with the partners of the Danube-Networkers educational network, Danet e.V. in the Edwin-Scharff-Haus (Silcherstraße 40 89231 Neu-Ulm).
The conference on 12 July with the theme „Strengthening civil society in the Danube region for a common Europe“ focused on participation and networking.
Social cohesion in the Danube countries and Europe as a whole is threatened by a variety of challenges. The reasons for this are globalisation, demographic change, digitalisation, climate change, migration, but also increasing social division due to growing nationalism and populism. How can we as civil society groups and citizens respond to these current challenges?
by informing each other and thus acquiring specific knowledge, positioning ourselves and looking for solutions together. Social participation, networking and European awareness are the cornerstones of the various thematic areas. The aim of the conference was to bring people from the same network areas together, but also to get to know the rich work of civil society organisations in other areas. To this end, a poster session will promote information.
During the lunch break, participants were able to take a closer look at the posters and ask questions.
